Drainage Sources
In Spring, more than any other time of the year, Meadowlark residents deal with water issues on their property. When you have soggy areas in your yard it creates a delimma with mowing. Grass grows and needs to be cut, but with soggy soil, the lawnmowers can't mow, or if they do, it results in ruts.
Association dues do not cover this. As stated in the President's Message, we are not condos. You own your home and the land, and it is up to each of you to handle any water issues. The biggest area of concern is the swale between homes. Many residents have joined together with their neighbor to have drains installed between the homes to lead to a pond or farther out into common area. In the past we have worked with several vendors who do this type of work and are listing them for your reference. We encourage you to consider the installation of drains if you have water issues. Give one of these vendors a call for a quote. Then talk to your neighbor about splitting the cost.
NOTE: The lawn care company may choose not to mow soggy areas to eliminate liability on their part. They have the right to do so.
